Newsletter December 2021

Hi All

With Christmas nearly upon us it is that time of year to pay your Rockies subs for 2022. It is difficult to predict what will happen to the running of Races in 2022 owing to COVID. All we can do is keep you updated with the information that we have on hand as we have been doing via newsletters and What’s app this year.

Comrades date has been set for Sunday August 28th 2022. As such there has been an adjustment to the standard racing calendar as we know it. Most of the major marathons will now take place between May and July. I am awaiting its finalisation from CGA and will distribute to members once I have it.

Rockies Race

Rockies race and the proposed Vitality series which it forms part of has, been moved too. We are now the first race of the series on Sunday 12th June. As always we will need volunteers to assist on the day.

Road Races 2022

Clubs are busy trying to put races together based upon the latest restrictions as advised by CGA. We urge all runners to read the instructions carefully especially the completion of COVID declaration forms, and comply fully to ensure that races can continue.

Membership 2022

Membership for 2022 will remain the same at R550 per person R1000 per couple. New members fee R700 including shirt/vest. It is important that members check their details via the CGA website

If your details have changed I will not know unless you update them. There also seems to be issues with members with gmail accounts with the mail ending up in junk, please check.

Members and new members can pay via the website or

Nedbank Balfour Park
Branch Code 151105
Account number 1511036532

2021 licenses may still be used until the end of Feb 2022.

The club has only ordered 2022 licenses for members who paid in 2021.

If you would like to renew your membership in 2022 please advise me to allow me time to order and collect additional licenses. In other words do not phone me on Saturday night before a race and ask me to take your license to a race the next day as it is not going to happen. Licenses are available for collection at the time trial every Saturday from 07h30 to 08h30. If you cannot make the time trial please advise, and I will take it to the club run on Sundays. When you enter a race you will need a license to run so order from me at the same time.
